Case for Change

Historically, Optometry is a retail-oriented profession.  Patient care is provided to drive the retail aspect of the profession. Optometric Medical Solutions is your expert to facilitate your move into the Medical Model.

To effectively manage this move on your own, an expert in medical billing and coding commands a high salary and should process over 500 claims per month to be cost effective.  Experienced personnel of this type are beyond most optometrist’s budgets; especially when they are just starting out in medical billing.  Pooling resources allows Optometric Medical Solutions to provide medical billing experts at a fraction of their actual cost. We provide the following distinct advantages:
  • Implementing a medical protocol driven system through developing clinical pathways maximizing revenue per diagnosis.
  • Education for Doctor and Staff for clinical and coding support.
  • Uninterrupted services. When a key employee leaves unexpectedly it can create havoc in a small office.  Optometric Medical Solutions maintains a full staff experienced in medical billing.
  • Remaining current. It takes more time and energy to keep abreast of the submission requirements from carrier to carrier. Our staff is constantly discovering new and better ways to ensure your submitted claims are paid.
  • Turnkey Services.   We don’t just process claims.  We provide everything from Credentialing to Telephone support.
  • Consulting.  Our experienced Medical Director, Claim Managers and claim processing staff will provide consulting support for your practice.
  • Risk mitigation through utilizing clinical protocols establishing consistent standards of care and practice.

"Before I became a customer of OM Solutions, I had already begun diagnosing and treating eye disease. However, my staff was not very successful at getting us paid. Often, claims were rejected and just set in a pile because we did not have the time to get to them. When we realized that the “rules” change regularly, we decided to pass a lot of our headaches to OM Solutions. We now file more ‘clean’ claims each month and have experts we can rely on to resolve rejections."
–Bill Burges, O. D., Castroville, Texas

"The centralized medical billing service provided by OM Solutions allows us to get prompt turnaround on all of our medical claims. In addition, my staff does not have to worry about secondary claims, or appeals/follow-up because the expert staff at OM Solutions provides a turnkey service that removes this overhead. "
–John Hardy, O.D., San Antonio, Texas "

"Providing medical services to our patients had been a al of mine for quite some time, but I didn’t know how to get started. The training that OMS provided to me and my staff helped me learn treatment protocols and help my practice and staff assimilate medical care into their routines. We have now evolved into a real primary eye care practice and my personal income has been improved substantially."
–Nelson Greeman, III, O.D., San Antonio, Texas

"I have a od office staff that has been handling medical claims for some time. The difficulty was staying on top of all the changes that take place every day. My staff did not have the time, nor the expertise to keep abreast of changes happening to the providers, laws, rules, etc. OM Solutions’ experts provide that service via their on-ing site visits and full time telephone support. I see them as another employee and a valuable component to my successful practice. "
–Henry Hull, O. D., New Braunfels, Texas

"I have been using OM Claims for several years.  I was able to expand my practice to bill third party insurances.  OM Claims clinical pathways and billing protocols have enabled my practice to grow financially, as I was not accepting those third party payer sources before.  It has been a competitive advantage for my practice that did not exist before, significantly improving the revenue of my practice.  In addition, it has expanded my practice, enabling me to establish new professional relationships with Ophthalmology that did not exist before. "
–Robert S. Thompson, O.D., San Antonio, Texas

"The cash flow for my practice has improved due to OM Claims’ services.  My billing flows efficiently, and therefore my staff is able to be more focused on taking care of the patient’s immediate needs.  OM Claims’ service is affordable, my patients are happy, my employees are satisfied, and, as a result, my cash flow has improved.  This has truly been a win-win situation for all of us."
–Nelson Greeman, III, O.D., San Antonio Texas
